PTO shafts with slip clutch for tractors. Protects against overload. Wide range, fast delivery.
Do you work with machines that are subject to heavy load? Think of power harrows, presses or rototillers. Then a PTO shaft with slip clutch is a smart choice. This shaft protects the driveline from overload. When the force becomes too great, the clutch begins to slip. This prevents damage to the PTO shaft, implement or machine.
At Techniek Totaal, we offer a range of PTO shafts with slip clutch for tractors, compact tractors and various agricultural machines. Whether you need a complete shaft or a replacement, we’re happy to help. Our selection includes models from Walterscheid, Bondioli & Pavesi, Rotaro and Weasler.
A slip clutch consists of friction plates held under pressure by springs or adjustment screws. When the load becomes too high, the plates rotate against each other — they slip. This happens instead of breaking or locking up parts.
The slipping action protects both the machine and the implement from sudden overloads or blockages. For example, a stone stuck under a power harrow. Without a slip clutch, this could damage the driveline. With one, the force is absorbed safely.
When buying, check the working length, shaft profile and required power at 540 or 1000 RPM. Match the clutch to your machine’s power. Many models are adjustable. Use the manual or contact us for help.
Check the clutch regularly for dirt or wear. Do not grease the clutch itself — grease on the friction plates reduces performance. The rest of the PTO shaft, like sliding tubes and U-joints, should be greased regularly.
A slip clutch PTO shaft offers several practical benefits:
prevents damage to the driveline during overload
extends the lifespan of your machine and implement
lets you keep working under varying load conditions
ideal for heavy-duty agricultural applications
If you value reliability and need to work under tough conditions, this type of PTO shaft is an excellent choice.
