Universal engine preheaters are the solution for vehicles in which normal MVP engine block preheaters cannot be used. They are especially suitable for commercial vehicles, tractors, construction machinery and industrial engines. The PH system works like an external flow heater and is connected to the small coolant circuit by means of additional hoses and T-pieces as bypass. As the system operates according to the self-circulation principle, the heater element should be mounted as low in the engine bay as possible. The hot water hose should have a consistent height of 15-20 cm. Depending on the coolant volume requiring heating, the PH is available in versions from 500 up to 2000 watts. It has resettable overheating protection and an integrated thermostat switch. The housing dimensions and hose connection diameter of 20 mm is identical on all versions. PH units are supplied with connection and fitting cables, as well as fixing materials. To prevent overheating all elements (MVP and PH) have a magnesium-coated wire which melts within 30-60 seconds if there is no coolant. For this reason the unit should never be tested dry.
