Restoring a Hanomag ATK? We have gathered more than 50 vintage tractor parts for this model on one page, so you do not have to look up each item separately.
Keeping a Hanomag ATK running is often about small parts doing their job. A pin with play in the steering, a water pump that starts to drip, brakes that no longer bite. This page holds more than 50 parts for the ATK, from GRANIT and METARO.
You do not always need a complete water pump, though one is available. Separate parts are listed as well: a water pump shaft, an impeller, a spacer pipe, a ring, a shim and a round rubber seal, so an existing pump can be overhauled. When reassembling, make sure the impeller does not rub on the housing, and turn the shaft by hand before you fit the pump back. Always use new seals when it goes back on the engine.
Brake linings and brake shoes, including shoes for the hand brake, are available. Reline both sides at the same time, or the tractor will pull to one side under braking. Clean the drums and check them for scoring or a lip before the new linings go in.
Track rod pins, bushes, castellated nuts and spring bolts take the slack out of the front end. Always secure a castellated nut with a new split pin. Reusing an old one is a classic reason for a nut to vibrate loose over time.
Press a new bush in squarely with a suitable drift. If the pins have grease nipples, pump grease in after fitting until clean grease comes out, so you know it has reached everywhere it should.
A cylinder head gasket set is there for when the head has to come off, along with gaskets for the inspection cover to cure small leaks. Lay the new head gasket on a clean and dry surface with no trace of grease and check head and block with a steel straightedge for flatness. Then tighten the head bolts in the prescribed sequence and in stages.
Check the type plate first to be sure the tractor really is an ATK. On old machines, parts often no longer carry a readable number. In that case, measure the old part and compare it with the product photo and description. If there is a number, hold it against the reference number.
If there are more Hanomags in the shed, each model has its own page. The Hanomag overview lists them all.
