There are complete piston and liner sets, separate piston ring sets, connecting rod bearings and cylinder head gasket sets. A full set of piston and liner renews everything that wears inside the cylinder in one go.
A tip for fitting piston rings: spread the ring gaps around the piston so they do not line up, and watch for the marking that has to face upwards. Oil the cylinder wall and rings with clean engine oil before the piston goes in. That way the fresh engine does not run dry on its first start.
For the clutch there are clutch kits, double clutch assemblies and clutch plates. For the handbrake, hand brake bands fit, and there are repair kits too. A worn handbrake band shows itself when the tractor no longer holds on a slope.
There are also V-belts for engine cooling, radiator hoses, ball joints, tractor seats and, at the rear, flange hitches and drawbars.
With a new V-belt, check the tension again after the first few working hours, as a new belt stretches a little at first. Too slack and it slips and lets the engine run hotter, too tight and it loads the water pump and alternator bearings. If the seat needs replacing, measure the mounting points on the console first.
The type plate gives the type and chassis number. For an engine overhaul you also need the engine number, and you should measure the bore and crankshaft journals before ordering. An engine that has been rebuilt before may already be oversize. A number on the old piston or bearing serves as a cross-check.
