Need a trailer coupling, electrics or front axle parts for a Renault Ceres 85? More than 160 parts for this Ceres series tractor are listed on this page.
Many a Ceres 85 has worked on the same farm for a long time. Sooner or later the engine smokes on a cold start, the linkage lifts sluggishly or the alternator stops keeping the battery charged. For jobs like these there are more than 160 Renault Ceres 85 parts on this page, from GRANIT, LUK, Walterscheid, MAHLE and Elring.
On the fuel side you can fit injection nozzles and O-rings for the feed pump. Going further into the engine, there are connecting rod bearings, cylinder head gasket sets and individual gaskets. An alternator keeps the battery topped up.
A tip on injectors: whenever you take them out, renew the copper sealing washers underneath and have the opening pressure tested if you are unsure. A dribbling nozzle causes white or black smoke on a cold start and, over time, washes the oil film off the cylinder wall. Tighten them to the specified torque afterwards, not by feel.
If the battery charges poorly, measure the voltage across the battery terminals with the engine running before you replace the alternator. A slack belt or a bad earth connection gives the same symptoms. Connecting rod bearing shells are never replaced one at a time, and the crank journal should always be checked for scoring.
For the hydraulics there is a double pump, along with seals for the hydraulic pump. If the linkage rises slowly or drops back, check the filter and oil level first. If both are fine, a leaking pump seal or a worn pump is next in line.
For the clutch there are complete clutch kits with a double plate design, double clutch assemblies and separate clutch plates, including one for the PTO. Flange hitches and drawbars fit the rear. Ball joints take care of the steering, and radiator hoses, for example for the oil cooler, cover the cooling side.
The type plate on the Ceres 85 gives the type and chassis number. For engine and clutch parts the engine number helps as well, because it settles bearing size and gasket thickness. A number on the old part is a second reference point, particularly for an alternator or clutch plate.
The Ceres line also includes the Ceres 95. For that type and every other Renault tractor, start at Renault parts, where each type from the brand is shown with its own parts. This page sticks to what fits the Ceres 85.
