Getting a Same Explorer 80 back in shape? You will find more than 140 parts for the Explorer series here, including lighting, electrics and trailer couplings.
From the engine and clutch to the lights and the seat, the Same Explorer 80 has more than 140 parts on this page. Along with the overview come a few pointers for the jobs that come up again and again on this tractor.
Engine parts include cylinder head gaskets made for the Explorer range and exhaust seals. For the clutch there is a thrust bearing, with LUK among the brands on this page. Hydraulic and transmission oil is also available, so you can top up straight after a repair.
If the battery on your Explorer 80 is no longer charging, the alternator may be at fault. Check the V-belt tension and the battery terminals and earth strap first, as the problem often lies there. Once those are fine, a replacement Same Explorer 80 alternator is the logical next step. Match the flange shape to the mounting on the engine. Rocker switches for the dashboard are listed as well.
Headlights for dipped and main beam, separate lamp glasses, indicator and position lights and number plate lights cover the lighting. Mirrors, a strut for the windshield frame, and seats and tractor seats from GRAMMER and Cobo complete the cab. At the rear, ROCKINGER and GRANIT drawbars handle the hitching.
A dim headlight often comes down to a lamp glass that has turned dull over the years or a reflector that has seen moisture. If you only replace the glass, seat the seal all the way round, or the lamp will mist up inside again. After fitting a new headlight, aim the beam against a wall so you do not dazzle oncoming traffic. When an indicator light flashes weakly or too fast, clean the earth connection and the bulb holder contacts before anything else.
Before fitting a new cylinder head gasket, check head and block for flatness with a straight edge and feeler gauge. Fresh head bolts are the safe choice, tightened in the specified sequence and in stages. A new gasket on a warped head will not last.
The type plate confirms you are working on an Explorer 80. The old alternator, headlight or thrust bearing often carries a number, which you can compare with the details of the item.
