Fendt Favorit 711 Vario (Typ 711) specifications

The Fendt Favorit 711 Vario was produced between 1999 and 2003 at the factory in Marktoberdorf, Germany. It is the entry-level model of the Favorit 700 Vario series, a range of tractors that was known at the time primarily for the stepless Vario transmission as standard equipment. The 711 therefore does not feature a conventional gearbox, but instead uses a hydrostatic-mechanical CVT, the ML75 Vario transmission, which allows continuously variable speed control from 0.02 to 40 or 50 km/h.

Engine and power

Under the hood sits a Deutz BF6M2013C, a water-cooled six-cylinder diesel engine with a displacement of 5,700 cc (5.7 litres). The engine is equipped with a turbocharger and intercooler. Rated power is 85 kW (115 hp) at 2,100 rpm. Maximum torque is 548 Nm. Compared to its predecessor, this represented an increase in output. The fuel tank holds 300 litres.

Transmission

The Vario ML75 transmission operates steplessly and has no fixed gears. Travel speed is continuously adjustable from a standstill up to a maximum of 40 or 50 km/h, depending on the chosen specification. Reverse travel is also stepless. The transmission is linked to an electronic control system that allows speed to be set independently of engine rpm, maintaining a constant travel speed under varying loads.

Hydraulics and lift system

The hydraulic pump delivers a maximum flow rate of 110 litres per minute. The electronically controlled rear linkage (EHR) has a maximum lift capacity of 7,465 kg. The power take-off (PTO) operates at three speeds: 540, 750 and 1,000 rpm. The number of double-acting control valves varies by specification.

Dimensions and weight

  • Length: 4,620 mm
  • Width: 2,430 mm
  • Height (with cab): 2,860 mm
  • Wheelbase: 2,830 mm
  • Kerb weight: approx. 5,980 kg

Standard tyre sizes are 420/70R28 front and 520/70R38 rear.

Cab and equipment

The Favorit 711 Vario came as standard with an enclosed cab with air suspension. Air conditioning was available as an option or standard depending on the specification. The tractor is fitted with air pressure brakes. The Vario terminal handled control of the transmission, linkage and hydraulics from within the cab.

Position within the 700 series

The 711 forms the base of the Favorit 700 Vario family. The range extended up to the 724, which produced 177 hp. All models in this series shared the stepless Vario transmission as their defining technical feature, which set the 700 series apart from many competitors in the early 2000s that were still using conventional gearboxes.

The 711 Vario was succeeded after 2003 by the Fendt 711 Vario of the following generation (2004 to 2006), which carried the same designation but had been technically updated, including a power increase to 124 hp and a torque figure of 548 Nm with revised engine management.
