On a Ford 5110 that has put in many seasons, the complaints tend to come from the same places. The steering develops play, the cooling struggles on a hot day, the clutch starts to slip. This page gathers more than 200 Ford 5110 parts for exactly those jobs, from GRANIT, Eaton, Cobo, LuK and GRAMMER.
For the steering there are ball joints and axial joints, the two joints that pass steering movement on to the wheels. Sealing rings, including ones for the front axle, and bushes go with them. You first notice play when the wheel turns a little before the front wheels respond. Have someone rock the steering wheel back and forth while you keep a hand on the joint. If it clicks or moves noticeably, it is time.
When you unscrew an old ball joint or axial joint, count the turns it takes to come off the rod. Screw the new one on by the same number of turns and the toe-in will be close to where it was. Have it checked properly all the same, since being out by a few millimetres eats tyres.
Water pumps, some complete with pulley and seal, radiators and engine oil filters are the core of engine maintenance. Gaskets, for example between exhaust manifold and turbo, round things off. A tip for the water pump: look at the small weep hole at the bottom of the pump housing. If coolant is coming out there, the shaft seal is finished and a proper leak is not far off. Flush the radiator when you change the pump, as old scale shortens the life of the new one.
LuK clutch plates are here for when the clutch comes apart. Starter motors help when it no longer wants to fire up. For road work there are rear lights and indicator and position lights, and for the driver there are seats from GRAMMER and Cobo. A tank cap and a drawbar are included as well.
The type plate shows the model and serial number. Many Ford components also carry their own reference number, cast into a pump housing or stamped onto a clutch plate. With those two details you can compare the old part with the new one.
Ford placed the 5110 in its 10 range of tractors. If you also run another model from that range, each has its own page with the parts that fit it: the Ford 3610, Ford 6710, Ford 6810 and Ford 7710. That saves time when there is more than one Ford in the shed. Every model from the brand is listed under Ford parts.
