Ford 7700 parts for a tractor that keeps on working

Plenty of Ford 7700 tractors are still in daily use, and keeping one on the road comes down to replacing the parts that wear out over time. Lights, switches and cables are often the first to go. This page lists more than 120 parts for the Ford 7700, from GRANIT, Eaton, LUK, MAHLE and FLEETGUARD.

Lights, switches and cables

For road use there are rear lights, indicator and position lights and rotary switches. On an older tractor, a flickering light is often down to a corroded earth rather than the lamp itself, so clean the contact points before replacing anything. Stop cables and tank caps are also available. Route a new stop cable without tight bends so it does not bind.

Engine service and cooling

Engine oil filters, including FLEETGUARD filters, are the basis of every service. Prime a new filter with fresh oil and wipe a little oil on the sealing ring, so oil pressure builds up straight away after the change. There are water pumps supplied with pulley and gasket, starter motors, an exhaust manifold gasket for the turbocharger connection and seals for the feed pump. A water pump that drips from its weep hole or has play in the shaft should be replaced before the engine overheats.

Clutch replacement

Clutch plates are available in several versions, including plates for a single clutch with a flat flywheel. For the PTO clutch there are internal plates. When you split the tractor, support both halves securely, check the flywheel for scoring and heat marks, and centre the new plate with an alignment tool so the shaft slides back in without a fight.

Steering and linkage

Ball joints keep the steering tight, and gear wheels and yokes cover the linkage. To check a ball joint, rest your hand on it while someone rocks the steering wheel. Any knock or visible movement means it is due for replacement.

Identifying the right part

Read the model and serial number from the type plate, then find the reference number on the old part and compare it with the product description. For clutch plates, count the splines on the hub and measure the diameter of the old plate. The flywheel type matters as well, since a plate for a flat flywheel will not suit one with a recessed face. Keep the old plate until the new one is fitted so you can lay them side by side.
