This page brings together more than 130 parts for the Same Explorer 90. You will find lighting, electrics and trailer couplings among them, and more besides.
On an ageing Explorer 90 the workshop jobs tend to come back to three areas, namely the clutch, the engine gaskets and the lights. Those are the areas this page covers first. This page brings together more than 130 parts for this Same tractor, made by GRANIT and by suppliers such as LUK, MAHLE, GRAMMER and Cobo.
For the clutch there are clutch plates and thrust bearings. A whining noise that appears as soon as you press the pedal usually comes from the thrust bearing. Since the tractor has to be split to reach it, fit a new bearing whenever you replace the plate. While it is apart, check the flywheel face for scoring and heat marks and put a thin smear of grease on the input shaft splines.
On the engine side you will find a cylinder head gasket, exhaust seals and seal kits. Fit a head gasket dry onto clean, flat faces, scrape off old material without gouging the surface, check the head for flatness with a straight edge, and tighten the head bolts in the sequence and stages given in the workshop manual. Alternators and hydraulic oil round off this group. If the battery stops charging, measure the voltage at the battery terminals with the engine running and check the belt and earth cable before you take the alternator off.
Lighting parts include headlights for dipped and main beam, separate lamp glasses, indicator and position lights and mirrors. If only the glass of a headlight is cracked, a new lamp glass is often all you need. For the seat there are Compacto seats from GRAMMER and complete tractor seats. A gas strut for the windscreen frame and an inner part for the drawbar complete the list.
Start with the type plate to confirm the tractor really is an Explorer 90. Then compare the reference number stamped or printed on the old part. With a clutch plate, also check the spline count in the hub, and with a lamp glass, which side it sits on.
The other tractors in the Explorer series each have a page of their own. If there is a second Explorer in the yard, its parts are here:
For any other model from the brand, go to Same parts and pick the type shown on the plate.
