This overview lists more than 110 parts for the Same Silver 80, with lighting, trailer couplings and electrics for the Silver series grouped together.
A high hours Same Silver 80 usually needs two kinds of attention: an engine that is ready for a rebuild and a seat that is past its best. This page covers both. More than 110 parts fit the Silver 80, from GRANIT, Cobo, GRAMMER, LUK and ROCKINGER.
Engine parts include piston ring sets, a cylinder head gasket and seal kits. A tip for new piston rings: push each ring squarely into its bore with the piston and measure the end gap before fitting. Then install the rings with the gaps spread around the piston, never lined up, so compression cannot escape past them. An alternator and a clutch thrust bearing are also listed.
For road work there are headlights, rear lights, indicator and position lights and separate lamp glasses, so a cracked lens does not always mean a whole new lamp. Mirrors and a drawbar complete this group.
GRAMMER Compacto seats, mechanical or air suspended, are available along with complete tractor seats. There are also contact switches and push button switches, for example for raising and lowering the linkage.
The electrical side includes an alternator. If the battery is no longer charging, check belt tension and the cable lugs on the alternator before replacing it. A contact switch that only works when you hold the key in a certain position is worn out and can leave the tractor stranded at an awkward moment.
A clutch thrust bearing on its way out makes a singing or droning noise when you press the pedal, and the noise goes away once you let it up. That is a fairly reliable sign the bearing is finished. Do not leave it too long, as a seized thrust bearing damages the fingers of the pressure plate. For the drawbar on the hitch rail, measure the rail width and the locking pin diameter on the old one before ordering. A new mirror is worth fitting when the glass has gone cloudy or the arm shakes on the road.
The serial plate tells you whether the tractor is a Silver 80 or another model from the Silver range. For a head gasket in particular, compare the number on the old gasket with the reference number listed with the product, because gaskets come in different thicknesses.
The larger tractors in the range have pages of their own:
Each of them shows the parts for that model alone. Owners of a different Same model will find it through Same parts.
