The Fendt Favorit 510 is part of the Favorit 500C series, produced between 1993 and 1999. It sits in the middle of that lineup, putting out more power than the 509C (70.8 kW) and less than the 511C (85.8 kW). Standard equipment includes a closed cab with heater; air conditioning was available as an option. Steering is hydraulic power-assisted, and the braking system uses hydraulic disc brakes.
Power comes from a MWM TD 226.B-4, a water-cooled four-cylinder turbocharged diesel with a displacement of 4.2 litres (253.5 ci). Bore is 105 mm, stroke 120 mm. Rated output is 105 hp (78.3 kW) at 2,300 rpm, with a peak torque of 417.1 Nm (307.6 lb-ft) reached at 1,500 rpm. The fuel tank holds 135 litres.
The gearbox is a Fendt Turboshift unit with four power-shift stages (I-IV) spread across six driving ranges, plus a creeper range adding another five steps. That gives a total of 44 forward and 44 reverse gears. The four power-shift stages allow on-the-go speed changes without interrupting the power flow. A Voith fluid coupling (Turbokupplung) sits between the engine and gearbox, cushioning engagement and absorbing driveline shock. Standard top speed is 40 km/h; 50 km/h was available as an option.
The rear PTO is independent and available in four speeds: 540, 750, 1000 and 1400 rpm. A front PTO (1000 rpm) was optionally available. PTO engagement is electro-hydraulic via a wet multi-disc clutch.
Front and rear differentials are lockable via an electro-hydraulic system.
Wheelbase is 233 cm, overall length 418 cm, width 228 cm. Cab height is 279 cm and ground clearance 53 cm. Front and rear tread width is adjustable from 150 to 189 cm. Operating weight is 4,970 kg, with a maximum permissible weight of 7,500 kg.
Standard tyre fitment is 420/70R24 front and 480/70R38 rear. Optional tyre combinations include 480/70R24 / 520/70R38, 480/70R24 / 600/65R38, 16.9R24 / 18.4R38, and narrower configurations in 9.5R32 / 9.5R48 or 11.2R32 / 11.2R48.
