Before the Fendt 313 Vario heads out on the road with a trailer, it is worth a quick walk around. Are all the lights working, are the mirrors set right, are the air couplings properly connected? On that walk you come across exactly the parts on this page: more than 550 of them for the 313 Vario, from brands such as GRANIT, HELLA, Wabco, GRAMMER and Walterscheid.
At the front and on the roof are the LED work lamps. Along the sides you have mirrors and grab handles, and at the step the rubber floor coverings and mats. The windscreen frame is held up by gas struts. Inside the cab there are push button switches, for example the green lighting switch. Under the bonnet the list covers alternators, temperature sensors and seals. Finally, at the rear, there are rear lights, connector heads for the trailer brake, and the pins, bushes and springs that hold the linkage and attachments together.
A dual-line brake system has a red connector head for the supply and a yellow one for the brake control. When hitching up, connect yellow first and then red. When unhitching, reverse it: red off first, then yellow. That way the trailer stays braked until it is fully connected to the tractor. After coupling, listen for air escaping at the heads. If you hear it, the seal in the head needs replacing. And when a rear light on the trailer goes out, the fault is often in the socket or the trailer plug rather than in the lamp itself, so check there first.
If the temperature gauge suddenly shows odd readings, the engine is not necessarily overheating. The temperature sensor or its plug is often to blame. Let the engine cool before you unscrew the sensor, catch the coolant that runs out and fit the new sensor with a fresh seal, then top up the coolant.

If the plate cannot be read, the old part helps. Alternators, sensors and lamps usually carry a reference number that leads you to the right replacement.
