Servicing or repairing a Fendt 412 Vario from the 400 series? This page has more than 500 matching parts, such as lighting, electrics and trailer couplings.
More than 500 parts fit the Fendt 412 Vario. To keep things manageable, here is a walk around the tractor from the windscreen to the hitch.
The front window on the 412 opens and is held up by gas struts. If it drifts back down or needs holding, replace the strut before it gives out completely on a cold morning and the window drops shut. Avoid loading a new strut sideways during fitting, as that damages the seal on the piston rod. The cab is also covered with handles for the body panels and push button switches such as the red hazard light switch. Rotary potentiometers cover the controls, and seat parts come from GRAMMER.
On the roof and fenders you will find HELLA work lamps together with the holders and brackets they mount on, as well as rotating beacons and springs. A cracked or vibrating bracket slowly lets a work lamp droop out of line, so replace it while you have the lamp off anyway.
A rotary potentiometer turns the position of a knob or lever into a signal for the electronics. If a function jumps or responds jerkily as you turn the knob, the track inside the potentiometer is often worn. Check first that the plug is dry and clean. After replacement a potentiometer sometimes needs to be calibrated again, so follow the workshop manual for the tractor.
Starter motors and alternators cover starting and charging. Add to that sensors, O-rings for the tank and seals for every spot where oil or diesel tries to find its way out.
At the back there are pins and Wabco connector heads for the trailer brake. Scharmüller is among the brands on this page as well. A coupling head with a cracked seal leaks air, and you will hear it hiss as soon as the trailer is hooked up.
Look at the type plate first. It shows the Typ number and serial number of your 412 Vario. The reference number on the old part is a good second check, and starters, alternators and potentiometers nearly always carry one on the housing.
The other tractors in the Fendt 400 range each have their own page, which helps if you run more than one Fendt:
Older Fendt tractors and other ranges are listed under Fendt parts.
