The 720 Vario does heavy draught work, and that shows in the parts it needs. At the rear it is about hydraulic top links, automatic hitches and connector heads for the trailer brake line. There are automatic drawbars from ROCKINGER and Scharmüller, hydraulic top links for the three-point linkage and hydraulic pumps. The Wabco connector heads are for the red supply line. An automatic hitch only locks reliably when the mechanism can move freely. Clean the jaw and the latch regularly, give them a light coat of grease and check after every hitch-up that the pin has dropped fully home. A hitch that has only half closed can often be spotted from the position of the indicator.
For working in the dark there are HELLA LED work lights and beacons with the spring for the holder. In the cab you will find push button switches and rubber floor mats. For the engine there are temperature sensors and gaskets, including ones for the front cover and the water pump, backed up by seals and O-rings. For the diesel tank there are tank caps, and separate covers are available too.
If the cab smells of diesel after filling up, check that the cap closes properly and that the rubber ring under it is still supple. A dried out ring lets fuel creep over the rim when the tank is full.

If the type plate has weathered, the old part often still helps. Pumps, sensors and connector heads usually carry a reference number that you can compare with the item. That way you avoid ordering a part that turns out to be just wrong.
