Fendt Favorit 514 (Typ 514) specifications

The Fendt Favorit 514 C carries the internal type designation FWA 514 and was built from 1993 to 1999. At the introduction of the Favorit 500C series in autumn 1993, the 514C was the largest available model alongside the 512C. With 140 hp, the 514C represented the power ceiling of the new series at launch. From 1995 that role was taken over by the 515C, but the 514C remained in production as the second most powerful model until the end of the series in 1999. The 514C is available exclusively with four-wheel drive.

Engine

The Favorit 514 C is powered by an MWM TD 226.B-6, a water-cooled six-cylinder four-stroke turbodiesel engine with direct injection, overhead valves, pressure circulation lubrication, a Bosch VE injection pump with automatic advance unit, multi-hole injector, dry air filter with pre-cleaner, wet cylinder liners, temperature-controlled viscous fan, exhaust turbocharger and thermostatically controlled dual-circuit cooling.

Bore is 105 mm, stroke 120 mm, displacement 6,234 cc. Rated power is 104 kW (140 hp) at 2,300 rpm. Maximum torque is 556 Nm at 1,500 rpm. Maximum injection pressure is 850 bar. The constant power range runs from 1,900 to 2,400 rpm. Engine oil changes are only required after 500 operating hours.

Transmission and travel speed

The 514C has the Turboshift gearbox with 44 forward and 44 reverse gears, consisting of six synchronised gears combined with four power-shift steps per range. The reversing unit is electrohydraulically pre-selectable. Top speed is 50 km/h, electronically limited to 40 km/h if required. The drive clutch is a hydraulically operated self-adjusting wet multi-disc clutch, combined with a Voith fluid coupling acting as the torque converter.

Hydraulics and lift system

The hydraulic load-sensing axial piston pump delivers 102 litres per minute. The rear three-point hitch is category III/II with electronic lift control (EHR) and draft force measurement via load pin on the lower links. Maximum lift capacity is 6,886 kg. The electrohydraulic differential lock acts on both front and rear axles. Up to four double-acting control valves are available. An optional front linkage is available.

Power take-off

The PTO is switchable between 540, 750, 1,000 and 1,400 rpm. The drive is independently electrohydraulically engaged. An optional front PTO at 1,000 rpm is available.

Brakes, drive and steering

The brakes are hydraulic disc brakes. An optional compressed air braking system was available. The portal drive on the rear axle, where the final drive runs via portal shafts, reduces the forces in the drivetrain and creates space for larger rear tyres. Steering is hydrostatically assisted.

Standard tyre sizes are 420/70R28 at the front and 520/70R38 at the rear. The cab is fitted with heating as standard; air conditioning is optional.

Difference from the 512C and the 515C

The 512C (125 hp) was the smallest model at the introduction of the 500C series. The 514C adds 15 hp but is otherwise technically identical. The 515C (150 hp), introduced in 1995, has a slightly higher torque of 574 Nm and a standard top speed of 50 km/h, but shares the same engine, the same Turboshift gearbox and the same cab. The distinguishing feature of the 515C is the exhaust pipe positioned beside the cab, which was introduced with the 1995 update and is absent on the 514C.
