The Fendt GT 231 is a well-known implement carrier from Fendt’s successful GT series and was produced from 1967 to 1993. This model was available as the F 231 GT, F 231 GTS, and later also as the F 231 GTW, and is one of the most widely produced implement carriers by Fendt. The GT 231 was manufactured at the Fendt factory in Marktoberdorf, Germany, and was specifically developed for versatile use in agriculture, grassland maintenance, and specialist crops. Depending on the production year, the Fendt GT 231 was equipped with various air-cooled MWM 3-cylinder diesel engines, including the MWM D 308-3, MWM D 325-3, and later the MWM D 327-3. Depending on the version, output ranged from 32 to 35 hp. Characteristic of the GT 231 is its central frame design, providing excellent visibility of front and mid-mounted implements. From the factory, the Fendt GT 231 was supplied in the typical Fendt green paintwork with red wheels.
