Jungheinrich DFG 660 parts for engine and operator

A diesel forklift such as the Jungheinrich DFG 660 needs more than seat cushions. Starter motors and oil filters belong on the parts list as well. You will find more than 20 new replacement parts for the DFG 660 here, from GRAMMER, HELLA, GRANIT, FEBI and Perkins.

Before you replace the starter

If the engine cranks slowly or you hear nothing but a click, check the battery and cables before blaming the starter motor. A flat battery, a loose earth strap or corroded terminals produce exactly the same symptoms. Measure the battery voltage, clean the terminals and tighten the connections. Only when the engine still refuses to turn over is the starter the likely culprit. Always disconnect the negative battery terminal before you start work, because the heavy starter cable is live at all times.

Parts for the DFG 660

On the engine side there are starter motors, engine oil filters and an oil filter, plus a pressure switch for the mounting strip. Around the operator you will find Duo-Sensitiv lap belts, one of them marked for Jungheinrich DFG trucks, back cushions, an adjustable back extension, a right-hand armrest and an adjustment rail set. A seat contact switch, a complete forklift seat, a wiper blade, a shock absorber, a cover and a hazard light symbol complete it.

Making sure it matches

The data plate confirms the truck is a DFG 660. For a starter motor, compare the number of pinion teeth and the flange against the old unit. For filters, the reference number on the housing is your guide, and for seat cushions the seat series on the label beneath or behind the seat. With a lap belt, check which side it mounts on and the shape of the tongue.

Changing the oil filter

Smear a thin film of clean engine oil on the rubber seal of the new filter before fitting it. Screw it on by hand until the seal touches the engine, then give it roughly another three quarters of a turn, without a filter wrench. After starting, check that no oil weeps past the seal and look at the dipstick again, since the new filter takes up some oil itself. Compare the thread and diameter of the old and new filters first, so the seal lands squarely on the face of the engine block.

Other trucks from this maker are covered on the Jungheinrich parts page, useful if the DFG 660 is not the only Jungheinrich you run.
