Parts for the Jungheinrich TFG 545

An LPG truck like the Jungheinrich TFG 545 spends long days under an operator, and the seat takes the brunt of it. Cushions split, armrests work loose and belts fray. This page gathers more than 30 new parts for the TFG 545, made by GRAMMER, HELLA and GRANIT, covering the seat as well as lighting and small electrical parts.

When the truck will not drive with you on it

If the TFG 545 refuses to move although you are sitting on the seat, the seat contact switch is a good first suspect. It tells the truck someone is in the seat and only then allows it to drive. Check the plug and wiring under the seat before replacing the switch, because a plug that has vibrated loose causes exactly the same fault. Never bridge it out. It is there to stop the truck moving off without anyone at the controls.

Seat parts and the rest

  • Black PVC seat cushions and back cushions
  • An armrest for the right side with adjustable tilt
  • An adjustable back extension in fabric
  • Duo-Sensitiv lap belts and a gas strut
  • A complete forklift seat for when the old one is beyond repair
  • An H7 halogen bulb, a round red reflector and a warning bulb
  • A changeover relay, a hazard light symbol, a cover and hose clamps

Picking the right cushion

The data plate confirms the truck type, but for seat parts look at the label on the seat. It shows the seat series, for instance MSG 93, and the upper part a cushion belongs to. Note both before you remove anything. For relays and bulbs, the number on the part you take out is the surest guide, and for hose clamps the outside diameter of the hose.

Setting up armrest and back extension

A new armrest only helps if it is set correctly. Adjust it so your forearm rests relaxed while you work the control levers, without your shoulder lifting. The right-hand armrest tilts, so take a moment to find the angle that suits you. Position the back extension level with the back of your head, and check all fixing bolts once everything is fitted, because a loose armrest soon starts to rattle. With hose clamps, tighten firmly but not brutally, as an overtightened band cuts into the hose.

For other trucks from this maker, the Jungheinrich parts page brings them together in one place, useful if the TFG 545 shares the warehouse with other Jungheinrich models.
