Looking for parts for your Fendt Farmer 308 (Typ 308) tractor? In this category, you'll find everything you need for the maintenance and repair of your vehicle.
The Fendt Farmer 308 is part of the Farmer 300 series and was produced between 1980 and 2003. There are two main lines: the 308 LS and 308 LSA (1980-2000) and the more compact 308 C and 308 CA (1998-2003). The "LS" designation indicates a higher specification level, while the "A" in LSA and CA refers to all-wheel drive.
The 308 LS and LSA were originally powered by an MWM D 226.4.2, a water-cooled four-stroke four-cylinder inline engine with direct injection and a displacement of 4.2 litres (bore x stroke: 105 x 120 mm). From 1989 onwards this was replaced by the turbocharged MWM TD 226 B-4. The rated engine speed is 2,400 rpm. Power output increased gradually during production: from 78 hp to 82 hp in 1989, and further to 86 hp (approx. 63 kW) in 1991. Cooling is handled by a thermostatically controlled dual-circuit system with a dry air filter and pre-separator.
The 308 C and 308 CA used a Deutz BF4M 1012 EC: a water-cooled four-stroke four-cylinder turbocharged engine with direct injection, charge air cooling, individual injection pumps and five-hole injector nozzles. This engine block features an integrated balance shaft and three-ring pistons.
All versions are fitted with a fully synchronised gearbox with 21 forward and 6 reverse gears. From 1991 an optional 21/21 reverser transmission became available. Top speed is 30 km/h as standard, with an optional 40 km/h version. The front axle of the LSA is a load-switchable ZF oscillating axle of the type APL-1552 (later APL-335, APL-735 and APL-700 F3), with a lateral driveshaft and self-locking "Locomatik" differential.
The hydraulic system is a Fendt block-type control hydraulic with mechanical lift control (MHR) and top link sensing. The three-point linkage is category II, available on request with a quick coupler. On the early version, pump flow is 39.95 l/min at 175 bar; as a three-circuit system 66 l/min. Maximum lift capacity was initially 3,490 kp, increased from 1984 to 3,820 kp at 180 bar working pressure. Lift travel: 660 mm. The later model has a pump flow of 71 l/min at 180 bar and a maximum lift capacity of 4,420 kp. Optional front hydraulics (cat. II) include two working cylinders with a 28 mm bore and 162 mm stroke, with a maximum lift capacity of 24.6 kN.
The PTO is switchable to 540, 750 and 1,000 rpm. A ground-speed PTO is available on request (9.6 PTO revolutions per wheel revolution). Maximum permissible torque: 1,750 Nm at 540 rpm, 1,100 Nm at 750 rpm and 900 Nm at 1,000 rpm. From 1991, front and rear axle are electrohydraulically switchable.
Standard tyre sizes are 13.6R24 on the front axle and 16.9R34 on the rear axle. The parking brake is an internal shoe brake on the differential output shafts. A single- or dual-circuit compressed air braking system was available as an option. At 40 km/h, drum brakes in the front wheels are mandatory; at 30 km/h they are optional.
The tractor comes with a sound-insulated comfort cab (noise level 73.5 dB(A)), an air-suspended seat, tinted glass and an opening roof hatch. Standard equipment includes heating with a three-speed blower, interior lighting, a radio pre-installation with two speakers, electrically adjustable exterior mirrors, digital instruments and rear work lights. Optional extras include air conditioning (later versions), front work lights, particulate filter, additional roof ventilation and H4 supplementary front lighting.
The 308 LSA was built from 1980 to 2000 across several generations. From 1980 to 1984 under the type designation T 178.210 (5,498 units), from 1984 to 1988 as T 178.211 (2,964 units), followed by further series through to 2000. The 308 C (2WD, type designation T 118.010) was built in 630 units; the 308 CA (4WD, type designation T 118.210) totals 1,848 units.
