The Fendt Farmer 310 is part of the Farmer 300 series and was produced from 1993 to 2000. It sits in the middle of the lineup, with the Farmer 309 below it (70.8 kW) and the Farmer 311 above (85.8 kW). The 310 puts out 78.3 kW (105 hp), making it a widely used tractor on mixed farms where both fieldwork and transport tasks were part of daily operations.
Power comes from an MWM TD226.B4, a liquid-cooled four-stroke four-cylinder turbocharged diesel with direct injection. This is the same engine family used in the predecessor (the Farmer 310 LS), but in the B4 variant with a slightly larger displacement. The technical details:
The Farmer 310 uses a fully synchronized Fendt EHS reversing transmission with 21 forward and reverse gears. The system works with three gears across two ranges, combined with a three-speed power shift and additional overdrive quick-change ranges. The 40 km/h overdrive was not available in all markets. Direction changes are handled electro-hydraulically.
The rear axle uses a bevel gear setup in portal design. The front axle is a power-shift ZF steering drive axle, type ZF APL 700 F4 (from 1990), with an electro-hydraulic four-wheel drive system and differential lock. The differential lock is electro-hydraulic on both front and rear. Brakes are hydraulic disc brakes and steering is hydraulically assisted.
Wheelbase is 233 cm (91.9 in), overall length 418 cm (164.6 in), width 228 cm (89.8 in) and cab height 279 cm (110 in). Unladen weight is 4,900 kg (10,804 lbs), with a maximum permitted weight of 7,500 kg (16,535 lbs). Front tread is 183 cm and rear tread 180 cm.
Standard tyres are 420/70R24 front and 480/70R38 rear. A range of optional tyre sizes is also available, including 480/70R24 front with 520/70R38 or 600/65R38 rear, as well as narrower configurations for tramline systems such as 11.2R32 front and 11.2R48 rear.
The electrical system runs on 12V with negative ground. The alternator delivers 95 amps and the battery has a capacity of 110 Ah. The cab comes with air conditioning as standard.
