The Fendt Favorit 615 (Typ 385) is the technical designation for the Favorit 615 LSA series, produced by Fendt in Marktoberdorf. Production ran in various versions from 1983 to 1994, with the early versions carrying the designation T 385.210 (525 units, 1983-1987). Later versions were the LSA Turbo variants, which continued in production until 1994. It is the top model of the Favorit 600 series and was at the time one of the heaviest production tractors in the Fendt range.
A distinctive feature of the 615 LSA is its transmission concept. The tractor uses a helical-toothed ZF synchronised fine-step gearbox, type T 3550, with side-shift in the 40 km/h version. Working in combination with this is the Turbomatik-E, a hydraulic fluid coupling with lock-up clutch. Depending on the load, the lock-up clutch connects the engine and gearbox at between 1,600 and 1,900 rpm, meaning less or no gear changing is required under load. There are four pre-selectable speed ranges with stepless speed control:

The Favorit 615 LSA is fitted with an MWM TD 226-6 (later designated TD226 B6), a water-cooled six-cylinder diesel engine with direct injection, turbocharger and intercooler. Displacement is 6,240 cc. The output of the Turbo version (from 1990, Typ 385) is 136 kW (185 hp). Maximum torque of the later version is 703 Nm at 1,500 rpm. The earlier non-turbo LSA version produced a torque figure of 630 Nm at 1,500 rpm. The engine features an inline injection pump, thermostatically controlled dual-circuit cooling and a dry air filter with pre-cleaner.
The power take-off operates at two speeds: 540 and 1,000 rpm. The hydraulic system uses two separate circuits, one supplying the hydrostatic power steering and the other serving the rear and front hydraulics. This dual-circuit hydraulic system was a new feature introduced with the 615 LSA compared to the preceding SL series.
Standard equipment on the 615 LSA included an enclosed cab, air pressure brakes and hydrostatic power steering. Available options included a front loader, front linkage, front PTO, cab suspension, creep gear, anti-slip control via radar, onboard computer, air conditioning, electrically adjustable door mirrors, an additional 80-litre tank, automatic trailer coupling and electronic external control. The Alltronic option and the Turbomatik-E as a standalone system were also available.
The Favorit 615 is the top model within the Favorit 600 LSA range. The series also included the 611, 612 and 614 models, all sharing the same MWM engine family but with lower power outputs. At 136 kW, the 615 sat in the heaviest class Fendt was producing in series at the time, before the 800 series was introduced in 1993 with MAN engines and higher power outputs.
