In the driveline there are double clutches, complete clutch kits and thrust bearings for the driving clutch, plus gear wheels. For the hydraulics you get hydraulic pumps, left and right lift rods and the sealing ring for the lifting shaft. The front end is covered by ball joints and steering cylinders. On the engine and electrical side you will find alternators, gear reduction starters and gaskets such as the oil sump gasket. Smaller items include O-rings for the brake cylinder, further sealing rings and replacement lamp glass for the lights.
If the 70-66 has to come apart for a new double clutch or clutch plate, fit a new thrust bearing at the same time. It costs little compared with splitting the tractor a second time, and a bearing that squeals or seizes will chew up the fingers of a new pressure plate surprisingly fast. While everything is open, look at the crankshaft seal and the flywheel face too. Oil contamination or deep scoring there will glaze a fresh plate in no time. With a hydraulic pump, check the direction of rotation first. Clockwise and anticlockwise versions look almost identical from the outside.
Jack up the front axle, hold the wheel at top and bottom and rock it. A knock at the ball joint means it is due for replacement, and leaving it only wears the steering cylinder and front tyres faster. A cylinder that weeps at the rod makes the steering vague, so you end up correcting all the time. Lift rods are worth a look too. A bent rod or worn eyes leave the implement hanging crooked, which is easiest to spot from behind with the linkage raised.
The type plate gives you the model and serial number. The number cast or stamped into the old component is even more useful, usually on the alternator housing or the rim of a clutch cover. Enter that reference number in the shop and the matching replacement comes straight up. For lift rods and ball joints, measure the old item before ordering so length and taper agree.
