Thrust bearings, clutch plates and double clutch pressure plates cover the clutch. Once the tractor is split, replace bearing, plate and pressure plate together. Any one of the three can otherwise force another split a few months down the line.
Thermostats, O-rings, gaskets for the thermostat and water pump, and V-belts. A useful check: before fitting a new thermostat, hang it on a piece of wire in a pan of water and heat it slowly, so you can watch it open. Always fit it with a new gasket or O-ring, as an old seal rarely seals again once it has been disturbed.
Seals and sealing rings for the lifting shaft and lift arm shaft are listed for the hydraulic linkage. A leaking lift shaft shows itself as oil on the outside of the lift housing. Clean the shaft thoroughly and look for rust or grooves before fitting a new ring, since a rough surface will cut through it quickly.

An alternator that is not charging is not always faulty itself. Check the V-belt and the earth cable first, because a slipping belt or a poor earth produces exactly the same symptoms. With a cracked headlight, replacing just the lamp glass is often enough, as long as the reflector has stayed clean and dry. When fitting a ball joint, clean the taper in the steering arm and keep it dry. Grease or dirt in the taper stops the joint pulling up tight, and play soon returns.
The type plate confirms the tractor is a 980. On seals and bearings the size or a number is often marked on the part itself. Compare that with the reference number shown with the product.
