Working on a Fiat F 140? More than 180 parts are listed on this page, with trailer couplings, lighting and electrics already filtered to this tractor model.
The rear end of a Fiat F 140 usually takes a beating from heavy trailers, and the coupling parts are the first to show it. This page holds more than 180 parts that fit the F 140, with brands such as GRANIT, Walterscheid, Cobo, MAHLE and LUK.
A worn piton or a ball with play sends a sharp knock through the drawbar every time you brake. Measure the ball or eye with a vernier caliper and compare it with a new one. If the wear has gone visibly oval, renew the matching pin and retaining clip at the same time rather than reusing them. Walterscheid is a familiar name for this kind of coupling.
For the electrical side there are starter motors, alternators and push button switches. If the starter turns slowly with a fully charged battery, measure the voltage at the starter itself while cranking. A poor earth strap often mimics a failing starter, so rule that out before replacing anything. When an alternator stops charging, check belt tension and the plug first.
Engine work calls for gaskets, for example between the turbocharger and the exhaust manifold, along with O-rings, seals, sealing rings and thermostats. Change a manifold gasket only on a cold engine, and swap any rusted nuts while you are there. In the cab, gas struts hold the rear window open and a fresh aircon compressor brings the cooling back for summer work. Ball joints and bushes remove slack from the steering.
If the old aircon compressor has seized, have the system flushed before fitting the new one, otherwise debris from the old unit ends up inside it. Evacuating and recharging is best left to someone with the right equipment. Fit rear window gas struts with the rod pointing down so the oil inside keeps the seal lubricated. A thermostat is easy to test in a pan of hot water, and if it does not open it has had its day. After replacing steering ball joints, have the tracking checked, since even a small error wears the front tyres quickly.
Start with the type plate on your tractor, then compare the number stamped on the old part with the reference number shown for the product. That avoids an alternator or compressor that looks identical but has different connections.
The F 140 belongs to the Winner F100 range together with the Fiat F 100 and the Fiat F 115, and each of them has its own page of matching parts. For the full line-up of the brand, go to Fiat parts.
