On a large Vario it is often a small component that stops work. An air conditioning temperature sensor sending the wrong readings, an expansion tank cap that no longer seals, a push button that sticks. Parts like these are listed here, along with other sensors, seals and O-rings.
Take the air conditioning temperature sensor. If it reads wrong, the compressor switches on too early or too late. You notice it as a cab that will not cool on hot days, or as ice forming on the evaporator. Before replacing the sensor, check the plug and the wiring, because a loose connection gives the same symptoms.
For night work there are LED work lights and beacons such as the HELLA Quasarino, with brackets to mount them. Alternators keep the batteries charged. In the cab you can fit tractor seats including the air suspended GRAMMER Maximo Professional. At the rear there are automatic drawbars, springs for the three-point linkage and connector heads for the trailer air brakes.
The coupling heads for the trailer air brakes sit low at the back and collect plenty of dirt. Always close the covers when no trailer is hitched, and check the rubber seal inside each head regularly. A cracked seal leaks air, and you only notice when the trailer starts braking poorly. Red is the supply line and yellow the brake line, so do not swap them when replacing a head.
