Lighting, trailer couplings, brake parts and transmission parts: for the Fiat 55-90 from the 90 series, more than 200 parts are listed on a single model page.
A Fiat 55-90 has often done plenty of hours by now, and the familiar jobs come round: a slipping clutch, a linkage that creeps down, an alternator that stops charging. This page lists more than 200 replacement parts that fit the type, from GRANIT, Cobo, LUK, Walterscheid, Bosch/Rexroth and others.
For the clutch there are clutch kits and thrust bearings for the driving clutch, plus bushes and spacers. If you split the tractor to reach the clutch, always replace the thrust bearing at the same time. The bearing costs little compared with the labour, and one that starts to whine shortly after the repair means splitting the tractor all over again. While it is apart, check the rear crankshaft seal for leaks.
Hydraulic pumps and seals are available, including lift shaft sealing rings. A linkage that slowly drops with a heavy implement attached often points to internal leakage, while a leaking lift shaft seal shows as oil running down the outside of the housing.
When changing the pump, renew the filter and check the oil as well, so debris from the old pump does not go straight into the new one. Mind the direction of rotation when fitting it.
Around the engine you will find gaskets, sealing rings, O-rings and thermostats. A sticking thermostat leaves the engine running too cold or too hot. Alternators, rocker switches for the dashboard and lamp glass for the lights are listed too, as is a curved, enamelled exhaust tube.
An alternator tip: disconnect the battery before you undo the charging cable. A spanner touching the block while the cable is live throws sparks and can damage the wiring or the new alternator. After fitting, use a multimeter to check that the charging voltage rises at idle and with the revs up.
The type plate tells you whether the tractor really is a 55-90. After that, the reference number on the old part is the quickest route. For a clutch, measure the diameter of the old disc and compare it with the details on this page. For lamp glass, check which side the glass sits on.
The 55-90 sits in the Fiat 90 series, and the other tractors in that line each have a page of their own:
