Lighting, electrics and trailer couplings for the Fiat 70-88 are listed here with other groups, more than 250 items in total for this 88 series type.
Look after a Fiat 70-88 and it keeps working for years. What it needs along the way is usually small but important: a lift shaft seal that weeps oil, a thrust bearing that sings when you press the clutch, or a cracked lamp glass after the tractor brushed a gatepost. This page lists more than 250 parts that fit the 70-88, from GRANIT, Cobo, LUK, MAHLE and Eaton.
The linkage on a tractor from the 88 range works hard. For it there are hydraulic pumps, lift shaft seals, piston sealing rings and lift rods such as the upper part of a lift rod. A leaking lift shaft shows up as oil on the outside of the lift housing and as an implement that slowly sinks while the tractor stands. Only fit a new seal onto a clean, smooth running surface. If the shaft has a groove or a rust patch where the lip runs, the new seal will start leaking again before long. A drop of oil on the lip and a square driver to press it in keep it from going in crooked.
A word on thrust bearings: if you are replacing one because it is noisy, look at the release fork and the guide sleeve it slides on at the same time. A seized or worn guide destroys a new bearing just as fast. A thin smear of grease on the sleeve and the fork contact points helps, but keep grease well away from the clutch plate.
Check the type plate before ordering and confirm it reads 70-88. Tractors in this range have very similar names, the Fiat 65-88 for instance, and the difference is one number. Many older parts carry a cast or stamped reference number that you can compare with the details on the product. With lamp glasses, check if the old one sat on the left or the right. If a Fiat 60-88 also works on your farm, that model has its own page with the parts for it. Older and newer Fiat models are gathered together on Fiat parts.
