A compact selection of more than 40 parts for the Claas Ares 816, trailer couplings included. Everything fits this type from the Ares series.
A broken mirror on the road is more than a cosmetic issue, especially with a wide implement behind the tractor. For the Claas Ares 816 you will find complete mirror sets, single mirrors and replacement glass here. If only the glass has cracked and the mirror head is still solid, swap just the glass and leave the arm adjustment as it was. If the housing is split or the arm sags, go for a new mirror or the whole set.
More than 40 replacement parts fit this model in total. They come from Scharmüller, ROCKINGER, Walterscheid, GRAMMER and GRANIT.
Hours on end in the Ares 816 call for a decent seat. There is an air suspended tractor seat with fabric cover and a Maximo Professional seat that GRAMMER builds for Claas. Parts for forced steering are here too, meant for trailers whose axle follows the tractor through the bends.
At the rear you can choose from several couplings. An automatic hitch from ROCKINGER or Walterscheid catches the drawbar eye by itself as you reverse up to the trailer. For drawbars with a ball socket there is a ball hitch with support plate, and for drawbars with a piton ring the Piton Fix from Scharmüller. A flange hitch, a top drawbar and a height adjustable adapter plate complete the line-up. The adapter plate lets you set the hitch at the height that suits the trailer, so the drawbar runs level.
Mud and straw in the catch mechanism are what an automatic hitch hates. Hose it out after dirty work and let it open and close a few times to see whether the pin drops on its own. Always check the position of the locking indicator after hooking up. If the pin feels stiff or stops halfway, replace the worn parts before you take a loaded trailer onto the road.
Start with the serial plate, because many models in the Ares range look alike. For couplings, the rail width and pin diameter of your current hitch matter as well. Measure both before choosing a hitch jaw or top drawbar, and compare the number on the old part with the details shown with the product.
If there are several Ares tractors on the farm, a separate page per model helps: the Ares 556, Ares 557, Ares 567, Ares 657, Ares 696 and Ares 697. The Ares 577 and the 656 are relatives of the 816 as well. Everything from the brand is under Claas parts.
