Parts for the Claas Axion 800 in one place: more than 40 items, including trailer couplings and three-point linkage parts from across the Axion range.
All the pulling force of a Claas Axion 800 ends up at the rear coupling point. Pins, balls and locking mechanisms wear there hour after hour, especially when the tractor spends long days on the road with heavy trailers. This page is focused on that area, with more than 40 parts for the hitch from Scharmüller, Walterscheid and GRANIT.
You will find drawbars, automatic hitches, Piton Fix pins, ball inserts in grey cast iron for a ball 80 coupling, screw-in ball adapters, top drawbars and complete drawbar frames. Support plates, adapter plates, a pick-up hitch, a retrofit kit and a towing drawbar are here too. For trailers with steered axles there are forced steering parts, such as the inserts that go into the pick-up hitch.
The list makes more sense once you answer three questions. What does the trailer hook onto, a jaw, a ball or a Piton? Which rail or plate carries that coupling? And does the trailer use forced steering? With those answers you narrow things down quickly.
Run a tape across the rail on your Axion 800 and note the width, then look at the hole pattern on the adapter plate. For a hitch jaw or Piton, the diameter of the locking pin matters as well. Many cast parts also have a number stamped in. That number, along with the serial number from the tractor's type plate, makes the choice clear.
A ball hitch wears on two sides, the ball itself and the cup in the trailer drawbar. Run a finger over the ball. If you feel a flat spot or a ridge, it is due for replacement. A worn ball knocks when pulling away and braking, and that hammering wears the cup even faster. Keep the ball lightly greased, and when you swap it, check the bolts or retaining pin of the insert as well, since a loose insert produces exactly the same knock.
Several other Axion models have their own page listing the parts recorded for them. If you run more than one Axion, take a look at the Claas Axion 810, Claas Axion 820, Claas Axion 830 and Claas Axion 840. The heavier tractors are covered by the Claas Axion 930 and Claas Axion 950 pages. The Axion 920 and Axion 940 belong to the series as well. Filters, electrics and wear parts for the brand are collected under Claas parts.
