Trailer couplings head the list of more than 60 parts for the Claas Ares 577. Useful when you are looking specifically for parts for an Ares series tractor.
Ask anyone who runs an Ares 577 where the wear shows up first and the answer is usually the back end. Trailers, balers, tippers and tankers pull on the hitch every working day, and pins, jaws and rails slowly give way. This page brings together more than 60 parts that fit the Claas Ares 577, with a strong focus on that hitching area: drawbars, automatic hitches, flange hitches, Piton Fix hooks, top drawbars and the drawbar frames they slide into. For the cab there are air suspended tractor seats and seats, including a Maximo Professional made for Claas.
Think of the rear hitch as a stack of separate parts. The drawbar frame holds the rail. The drawbar slides into that rail. On top of the drawbar, an adapter plate or support plate carries the actual coupling, which can be a ball for a heavy trailer, an automatic hitch for a drawbar eye, a flange hitch or a Piton Fix. For less common setups you will also find a ball insert, a Pick-Up hitch and forced steering parts.
Because each layer is sold on its own, a worn jaw does not mean replacing the whole assembly. If the drawbar rattles in its rail, check the locking pin and the guides in the frame first.
Two things decide whether a hitch part fits, and you can check both on the tractor yourself. Measure the rail width of the frame and look at the hole pattern of the plate your hitch is bolted to. Both are stated with every product. If you are unsure about the frame, read the Typ number from the type plate on the tractor, or look for a reference number stamped into the old part and compare it.
A workshop tip for automatic hitches. Grease the coupling pin and the catch mouth regularly, but sparingly, so dirt does not build up into a paste. At every service, drop the pin and listen for the lock to engage cleanly. A pin that sticks or drops slowly is a reason to replace it straight away rather than at the end of the season.
Every other Ares model has a page of its own, so you only see the parts meant for that machine. Useful if there is more than one Ares in the yard:
