Time to replace the trailer coupling on your Claas Arion 460? This Arion series tractor has more than 40 parts listed here, trailer couplings among them.
For the Claas Arion 460, this page is all about the back end. There are more than 40 parts that fit this tractor, nearly all of them for coupling trailers and implements, from Scharmüller, Walterscheid, ROCKINGER and GRANIT.
Drawbar frames and adapter plates carry all of these. A height adjustable adapter plate lets you set the hitch so the trailer drawbar runs level. A hydraulic lifting strut for the linkage and forced steering parts for a trailed unit complete the set.
A hitch wears in two places, the coupling pin and the jaw or ball the towing eye sits on. Measure the pin in several directions now and then. Once it has gone oval, the trailer gets slack, and you will feel that as shunting under braking. Grease the ball and pin, but wipe off the dirt first or the grease turns into grinding paste. When you change parts, check the locking pins and frame bolts are torqued correctly.
The hydraulic lifting strut takes the place of a fixed lift rod and lets you adjust an implement from the seat. When fitting it, make sure the hoses are clear and cannot kink with the linkage fully raised or fully lowered. Then run the linkage slowly through its full travel before you start work. On an automatic hitch, check regularly that the pin drops fully home after coupling.
Confirm on the rating plate that you have an Arion 460. A drawbar or frame only fits when the rail width and hole pattern match. Measure them on the tractor or read them from the plate on the old part, where Scharmüller and ROCKINGER usually stamp a reference number.
Running another Arion as well? Each one has a page with the parts that fit it:
The Arion 510 and Arion 610 belong to the same series. Everything else for the brand is under Claas parts.
