Claas Axion 920 parts for the rear hitch

The Axion 920 pulls heavy loads, and its coupling point takes a beating as a result. The more than 50 parts on this page that fit this tractor all deal with that coupling point. They come from Scharmüller, Walterscheid and ROCKINGER.

Pick-Up Hitch inserts

A Pick-Up Hitch is a hook that is lowered and raised hydraulically, and the insert decides what you can couple to it. For the Axion 920 there are inserts to switch between a ball, an automatic hitch and other couplings. When changing an insert, make sure it seats cleanly in its housing and that the lock clicks home. Dirt in the housing stops the insert from sitting flush and speeds up wear.

Ball and rail systems

Also listed are ball hitches, screw ball adapters and inner parts for the rail, as well as drawbars with a ball, the Piton Fix system and a flange hitch. Adapter plates make a coupling fit the hole pattern on the tractor.

Forced steering

A trailer with a steered axle uses a separate ball next to the hitch for its steering rod. Several forced steering versions are available, including one welded at both ends.

The inner part is the piece that slides up and down in the rail and carries the coupling. Once its guide wears, the whole hitch starts to rattle. When replacing it, clean the rail thoroughly and check it for burrs and rust so the new inner part runs smoothly and locks properly.

Workshop tip for screw-on balls

A ball fitted to an adapter has to be tightened to the specified torque. After the first few hours with a heavy trailer, check whether the nut is still tight and retighten it if needed. A ball that works loose even slightly will ruin the thread and the trailer socket in a short time.

Getting the fit right

Begin with the type plate on the tractor, then measure the rail width and pin thickness on your current coupling. Inserts and balls often carry a manufacturer reference number, which is the fastest way to match them with the shop.

Each model in the Axion range has a page of its own. In the same heavy class there is the Claas Axion 930, plus the Axion 940 and Axion 950. One class down are the Axion 800, Axion 810, Axion 820, Axion 830 and Axion 840. Always pick the page for your own tractor. The complete brand is under Claas parts.
