If the indicators on your Linde E16 suddenly flash faster than usual, a bulb has usually blown. It is a small example of what matters on this electric forklift: seeing and being seen between racking, doors and people on foot. For lighting there are halogen bulbs, flood beam work lamps, an indicator and position light, separate lenses, an indicator lens and a round reflector. A flasher unit, a changeover relay and a horn complete the electrical side.
Two tips from the workshop. When the indicators flash too fast, check every bulb and the earth connection of the bulb holder before replacing the flasher unit. And if you switch to LED lamps, fit a flasher unit designed for them, or the flash rate will be off.
For the operator there are complete forklift seats such as the air suspended Primo L in fabric, plus a seat contact switch that tells the truck someone is seated. Mirrors and wiper blades keep the view clear. The gas struts are meant for a door, front window or rear window and hold it open properly, and where two work together you change both. Switch symbols such as the hazard light symbol are available as well.
The type plate confirms that the truck is an E16 and gives its serial number. For bulbs, read the code on the base of the old bulb. For lenses, look for the number moulded into the glass. Compare that reference number with the details shown with the product, and check the side, left or right, because lenses are not always the same on both sides.
The mirrors are black and clamp onto a rod. If the glass breaks, a complete mirror is often quicker to fit than a loose glass. Adjust it after fitting while sitting in your normal driving position. Flood beam work lamps light the floor in front of the forks evenly, so aim them after replacement so the beam lands just ahead of the fork tips. And after fitting a new seat contact switch, test straight away that the truck stops as soon as you stand up.
