See at a glance which parts fit the Massey Ferguson 3050 from the 3000 series: more than 400 items, including lighting, electrics and trailer couplings.
When the engine in a Massey Ferguson 3050 starts using oil or puffing blue smoke, a rebuild is on the cards. For that job there are MAHLE piston sets here, complete with rings and gudgeon pin. Routine maintenance is covered too: this page brings together more than 400 Massey Ferguson 3050 parts, from seals to a new seat.
Fitting a piston set takes care. Measure the cylinder wall for wear and ovality first, because a new piston in a worn liner will carry on burning oil. Stagger the ring gaps so they do not line up, and watch the top side of each ring, which is normally marked. Coat the piston and rings generously with engine oil before they go into the bore.
While the engine is apart, replace every gasket and seal you disturb. On this page you will find sealing rings, seals including one for the fuel tank sensor, and O-rings in a variety of sizes. For the PTO clutch there are inner and outer plates, and for the linkage there are bushes such as the one for the lower link strut.
After a rebuild the engine needs to turn over briskly. Starter motors for the 3050 come in several versions, so match the number of pinion teeth, the direction of rotation and the flange against the old one. In the cab there are push button switches, such as the green four-wheel drive switch with lock, and door gas struts for the 3000 series.
For the driver there are tractor seats, including an air suspended seat with a fabric cover, and GRAMMER seats. A decent seat makes a real difference to your back after a long day in the field. At the rear there are drawbars and plates, with further parts from GRANIT, HELLA and Cobo.
Before ordering a new seat, measure the hole pattern on the console the old seat sits on. If it does not match, an adapter plate solves it. An air seat also needs a power feed for the small compressor under the cushion.
The 3050 is part of the Massey Ferguson 3000 series. The reference number on the old part is the safest thing to compare with the product details. With a piston set, compare the diameter and the pin with the old piston as well, rather than judging by eye. Other tractors from this series have separate pages with only their own parts: the Massey Ferguson 3060, Massey Ferguson 3075, Massey Ferguson 3085 and Massey Ferguson 3095. The full brand overview is on Massey Ferguson parts.
