Three-point linkage parts, trailer couplings and electrics are among the more than 50 parts for the Massey Ferguson 8S.265 from the 8S series.
A Massey Ferguson 8S.265 spends its days pulling heavy implements and trailers, and the parts for it reflect that. Of the more than 50 parts listed for the 8S.265, a large share is about hitching up. The rest covers the engine, lighting and cab.
Check the type plate to confirm the 8S.265. For hitch parts, the rail width and hole pattern of your existing mounting are what decide the fit, so measure both before choosing an adapter plate or drawbar frame. With a thermostat or starter motor, the number is often on the old part itself.
For the three-point linkage there are Walterscheid hydraulic top links and stabilizers. At the rear you will find a drawbar retrofit kit in AGCO gray, drawbar frames, ball type drawbars, Piton Fix and Scharmüller adapter plates. Connector heads for the supply line take care of the trailer air brakes.
A tip for the hydraulic top link: keep it retracted as far as possible when parked, so the chrome rod is not left exposed to dirt and moisture. Make sure the hoses do not rub on sharp edges when you hitch up, and replace a top link with a damaged rod, as the seals will soon start leaking.
Under the hood there are MAHLE thermostats and a starter motor. HELLA supplies headlights and a beacon with a push-on pin. In the cab you will find seat shock absorbers, mirrors and a screenwash pump.
When changing the MAHLE thermostat, always fit a new seal and bleed the cooling system thoroughly after refilling. An air pocket around the thermostat makes it open late and leaves the temperature gauge wandering. On the connector heads, the rubber seal in the coupling face is the wear item. If it is hard or cracked, you will hear air escaping as you hook up and the trailer builds less braking pressure.
A beacon with a push-on pin goes on in seconds, but its base needs to sit firmly. Check that the roof holder is not bent and that the plug stays dry, as moisture in the connection is the usual reason a beacon cuts out now and then. A smear of contact grease on the pins helps keep it that way.
These tractors from the same series each have a page of their own:
If you also run older Massey Fergusons, every series is listed under Massey Ferguson onderdelen.
