Our Massey Ferguson 399 overview holds more than 300 items. Expect lighting, electrics, and brake and transmission parts for this model in the 300 series.
If the linkage on your MF 399 creeps down overnight, a tired seal in the lift cylinder is the usual suspect. That kind of repair is where this page comes in: more than 300 new replacement parts for the Massey Ferguson 399, from GRANIT, Eaton, Cobo, DANA Spicer, MAHLE and others.
Once the cylinder is open, replace every ring and seal at the same time, even if only one is visibly leaking. Inspect the bore and the piston for scoring, and coat the new rings in clean hydraulic oil before you ease them over the piston. A dry ring dragged over a sharp edge will leak from the first day. Bolts and adjusting plates removed during the job are worth checking too, since a distorted plate throws off the setting you have just made.
Massey Ferguson part numbers are often shown right in the product description, so the number on your old seal or gasket, or the one from the workshop manual, can usually be matched directly. If the old part is unreadable, the identification plate confirms you are working on a 399 and the dimensions of the removed part do the rest.
Before replacing a starter motor or alternator, clean and tighten the battery terminals and the earth strap. A good share of starting problems come from a poor connection rather than the starter itself. If the battery voltage is fine and the engine still turns over slowly, replacement makes sense. Compare the number of pinion teeth and the direction of rotation on the new starter with the old one, and set the belt tension correctly after fitting an alternator so it does not slip.
The MF 390, MF 390T, MF 398, MF 375 and MF 350 each have their own page, so you can check each tractor in the yard separately. All other models are listed under Massey Ferguson parts.
