More than 400 parts fit the Massey Ferguson 5445 from the 5400 series, including electrics, lighting and trailer couplings for everyday repairs.
Is your Massey Ferguson 5445 running hot under heavy work, or has the air conditioning stopped blowing cold? The cause is often at the front of the engine bay. This page holds more than 400 parts for the 5445, with fan clutches and aircon compressors for cooling and climate, alongside plenty of parts for the cab, the PTO and the hitch.
A viscous fan clutch drives the fan harder as the engine warms up. With the engine cold and stopped, it is easy to check: turn the fan by hand. It should rotate with slight resistance. If it spins freely with no drag, or will not move at all, the clutch needs replacing. Look for oil traces around the hub as well, since a leaking clutch loses its grip. With an aircon compressor, compare the pulley and the connections with the old unit.
Swapping an aircon compressor is not a quick yard job. The refrigerant has to be recovered with proper equipment first, and after fitting the system is evacuated and recharged. Ask how much compressor oil the new unit already holds, so the system ends up with neither too much nor too little. A dry start can damage a new compressor straight away.
Brands you will come across here are GRANIT, Scharmüller, HELLA, MAHLE and GRAMMER.
A shaking mirror makes reversing with a trailer hard work. When replacing one, check the mirror arm and clamps too, because any play there will make a new mirror vibrate just the same. Adjust it from your normal seating position with the trailer straight behind, so the rear edge of the trailer is just in view.
Within the Massey Ferguson range, this tractor is part of the 5400 series. The reference number on the old part gives you the surest match against the product details. Other tractors in this series have their own parts pages: the Massey Ferguson 5425, Massey Ferguson 5430, Massey Ferguson 5435, Massey Ferguson 5455, Massey Ferguson 5460 and Massey Ferguson 5465. All other models are on Massey Ferguson parts.
