Massey Ferguson 5610 parts for hitching, cab and cooling

On plenty of farms the 5610 is the do-everything tractor, with a loader on the front, a trailer on the back and road work in between. The parts on this page reflect that. There are more than 170 new replacement Massey Ferguson 5610 parts here, from GRANIT, Scharmüller, Walterscheid, HELLA and ROCKINGER.

Hitch and drawbar frame

For towing there are ball-type drawbars and complete drawbar frames. Keep the ball lightly greased and check it for wear now and then. A worn ball causes snatching in the combination and damages the socket on the trailer drawbar. Before swapping the hitch, measure the rail width on the frame of your tractor so the new part slides into the existing guide.

Small cab parts that fail

In a 5610 cab it is usually the small items that give up. You will find gas struts for the roof window, handles, knobs, push button switches and a seal for the door handle. When the roof window no longer stays open, the gas strut has lost its pressure and replacing it takes minutes. Fender springs and pivots are available too.

On the electrical side there are relays, among them a starter relay with holder, and HELLA work lamps. A flood beam lights up the area around the tractor more evenly during loading than a spotlight does.

When replacing a relay, check the pin layout and the holder. If the holder contacts are loose or discoloured, replace the holder as well, otherwise the fault comes back. A starter relay that clicks without the starter turning is a classic case, but check the earth cables first, as a poor earth produces the same click.

Thermostat, sensor and clutch plates

For cooling there are thermostats and temperature sensors. If the gauge swings up and down, test the sensor and its connector before changing the thermostat, because a corroded plug gives the same symptoms. For the clutch, internal and external plates are listed.

Getting the fit right

Read the type plate before ordering. If the old part still shows a reference number, compare it with the number given on the product. With clutch plates, count how many are fitted before you order.

The 5610 is part of the 5600 series, and these models each have their own page:

Older and newer models of the brand are on the Massey Ferguson parts page.
