Electrics, lighting and trailer couplings form the core of more than 350 parts for the Massey Ferguson 6180, a tractor from the 6100 series.
You spend a lot of hours in a Massey Ferguson 6180, and in time the cab shows it. Switches stop responding properly, the rear window will not stay open, the seat has lost its spring. On top of that, the PTO clutch eventually needs new plates. This page brings together more than 350 Massey Ferguson 6180 parts from GRANIT, Cobo, ROCKINGER, DANA Spicer and HELLA.
For the dash there are rocker switches, including one for the rear work light, push button switches and multifunction switches. Work lamps from HELLA and GRANIT light up the area around the tractor. Tractor seats from Cobo and GRANIT make long days easier on the back. For the rear window there are gas struts and sealing rings for the window lock.
A tip for the rear window gas strut: fit it with the piston rod facing down. Stored that way, the internal gasket stays wet with oil and the gas spring loses its force far more slowly. Replace both sides at once, otherwise the window twists and strains the hinges.
For the PTO clutch there are external and internal plates, along with plates and adjusting shims. If the PTO slips under load or engages with a bang, the plate pack or its actuation needs attention. Always renew the plates as a full pack and set the clearance carefully with the adjusting plates. Bushes for the lower link strut and a ROCKINGER drawbar round out the linkage and hitch side.
A good share of tractor maintenance is simply curing leaks. For that there are sealing rings, seals and O-rings here, such as the seal for the fuel tank sender. When changing a shaft seal, clean the shaft thoroughly and check the running surface for a worn groove. Fit a fresh lip seal over a worn track and oil will be dripping out again before long. A light film of oil on the sealing lip helps it go in cleanly.
The type plate on the 6180 lists model and serial number. Check it against the number on the old part and you can be confident of the match. Within the Massey Ferguson range, the 6180 sits in the 6100 line-up. Other models in that range each have a page of their own: the Massey Ferguson 6130, Massey Ferguson 6140, Massey Ferguson 6150, Massey Ferguson 6160, Massey Ferguson 6170 and Massey Ferguson 6190. The 6110 belongs to this series too. Everything for the brand is under Massey Ferguson parts.
