Massey Ferguson 6245 owners are well served here: more than 400 parts for this 6200 series tractor, such as electrics, lighting and trailer couplings.
This page covers more than 400 new parts that fit the Massey Ferguson 6245, a member of the MF 6200 series. Brands on the page include GRANIT, Scharmüller, DANA Spicer, Cobo and HELLA.
Before you compare anything, write down the model and serial number from the type plate. Then work from the old part. Alternators are matched on the mounting lugs, the flange and the terminals. V-belts carry a code on the back that tells you the profile and length. Adjusting plates for the front axle, and the external and internal plates for the PTO clutch, often have a reference number, and if it has worn away you can measure the old part.
Around the engine there are alternators and V-belts, including a belt for the air pressure system. The front axle is covered with adjusting plates for the pinion. The PTO clutch has its own external and internal plates. For sealing there are sealing rings, seals and PTO O-rings, such as a seal for the fuel tank sensor.
At the back there are drawbars with ball and rail, and in the cab you will find contact switches, rocker switches, push button switches, gas struts and mirrors. Work lamps, both halogen and LED, finish the list.
A V-belt that squeals on start-up or shows cracks across its flanks is due for replacement. Check the pulleys while the belt is off: a groove that is worn shiny or has a lip on the edge will chew through a new belt in no time. Fit the belt without prising it over the pulley edge, and set the tension so you can just twist the longest run a quarter turn by hand. Check the tension again after the first hours of work, as a new belt settles in.
If the charge light stays on, check the belt and the cables before you condemn the alternator. Measure the battery voltage with the engine running, and look for corroded terminals or a poor earth strap. Disconnect the battery before you remove an alternator.
Each of these tractors has a page of its own with the parts confirmed for it:
