Lighting fault or a worn trailer coupling on your Massey Ferguson 8250? This page for the 8200 series lists more than 300 parts, electrics included.
High hours on a Massey Ferguson 8250 tend to show in the same places: a PTO clutch that slips under load, a cracked work lamp, a seat that has lost its spring. For this tractor you will find more than 300 Massey Ferguson 8250 parts on this page, from GRANIT, Scharmüller, HELLA, Cobo and GRAMMER.
External and internal plates for the PTO clutch are both available here. Replace them as a full set rather than mixing a few new plates into a worn pack. Note the order of the plates as they come out and lay them down in sequence. Soak the new friction plates in clean transmission oil for a while before fitting so the lining does not run in dry. Check the sealing rings and O-rings on the piston at the same time, because a clutch that leaks pressure will not fully engage and soon slips again.
The PTO contact switch and push button switches for the controls are on this page as well, in case the fault turns out to be electrical.
When replacing a rear window gas strut, match the length, force and end fittings, and mount it with the rod pointing down so the seal stays lubricated.
A seat that has sagged or tilts to one side makes a long day hard on your back. When you replace it, check the mounting underneath, as the hole pattern of the new seat has to line up with the console in the cab. A work lamp with a cracked lens may keep working for a while, but moisture soon attacks the reflector, and then a new lamp is the only fix.
The model and serial number are on the type plate of the 8250. For seals and clutch plates, the reference number on the old part or its packaging is usually the quickest guide, and measuring inner and outer diameter clears up any doubt.
The 8250 is part of the 8200 series, and its two siblings each have a page of their own:
