When servicing the Steyr 6140 Profi, you want to be sure a part fits. Choose from more than 200 parts such as trailer couplings, electrics and lighting.
Temperature gauge on your Steyr 6140 Profi creeping up on hot days, even though the radiator and coolant are fine? Then take a look at the fan clutch. It is one of more than 200 replacement parts for this model on this page, made by GRANIT and by Scharmüller, Sauermann, Cobo and GRAMMER.
Here is how to check a viscous fan clutch: with the engine cold, turn the fan by hand. It should feel some resistance and not keep spinning. If it turns very freely and coasts for a long time, or if it is seized, the clutch is no longer doing its job. Look for oil around the hub too, because a leaking clutch loses its fluid.
Around the engine you will also find a cylinder head gasket, silencers and multi-rib belts. Between engine and transmission sits the torsion damper. A tractor that rattles at idle or knocks when pulling away often has a worn one. For the electronics there are sensors, such as the PTO sensor in the transmission, supplied with connection cable and plug. When you replace the multi-rib belt, look at the tensioner and pulleys as well, because a worn groove chews through a new belt quickly.
The rear end is well covered. There are drawbar balls, a drawbar retrofit kit, Piton Fix parts and a top drawbar from Scharmüller, plus adapter plates to set the hitch height. The retrofit kit lets you convert a drawbar for other work, handy if you pull lighter trailers as well as a tipper.
For the driver there is an air suspended tractor seat. Gas struts hold the rear window open, mirrors give you the view behind, and Cobo push button switches replace buttons that no longer make clean contact after years of use.
Check the serial plate to confirm you have a 6140 Profi. Model numbers in the Profi series sit close together, and one digit can mean a different part. The number on the old part, on a multi-rib belt or the fan clutch housing for example, helps you compare with the details shown with the product.
Other Profi models have a page of their own, from the bigger to the smaller ones: the Steyr 6125 Profi, Steyr 6135 Profi, Steyr 4110 Profi, Steyr 4115 Profi, Steyr 4130 Profi and Steyr 4145 Profi. The 4120 Profi and 6145 Profi belong to the series as well. For all other Steyr tractors, go to Steyr parts.
