Lift the bonnet on a 6145 CVT and the first parts you touch are the gas struts that hold it up. If the bonnet drifts down on its own, the struts are due, and you change them with the bonnet safely propped. For the cooling system there are water pump gaskets and O-rings for the thermostat housing. Whenever the thermostat housing comes apart, a new O-ring goes back in. Top up with coolant at the right mix afterwards and bleed the system properly, otherwise an air pocket stays trapped at the thermostat and the temperature gauge starts to jump. On the turbo there is a seal in the oil return line. Oil mist under the turbo often comes from that seal rather than from the turbo itself, so check it first. For the external controls there are raise and lower rocker switches on the fender, plus push button switches for the front PTO with cable and plug. These switches live outside in all weather and take a beating every time the tractor is pressure washed. At the rear there are hitches, hitch frames, drawbars and automatic clevis hitches. On a clevis, check the wear on the coupling pin and the jaw. A worn pin means slack in the coupling and a jolt every time you pull away or brake with a heavy trailer. Measure the rail and pin on your own frame before ordering a hitch.
