When the air conditioning on a 6145 Profi gives up in the middle of summer, the cab turns into a greenhouse. That is why this page starts with climate and cooling. For the cab there is an aircon compressor, and for the engine a cooling fan and temperature sensors. A tip from the workshop: when a compressor fails, renew the receiver drier as well and have the system flushed before it is recharged. Otherwise metal debris from the old compressor stays in the lines and wrecks the new one within a short time.
For the exhaust there is a NOX sensor, and an alternator keeps the battery topped up. If it charges weakly, check belt tension and the earth connection first.
The fenders hang on fender brackets, pivots and springs, each available for left and right. A fender that rubs on the tyre at full lock usually points to a tired spring. At the rear there are drawbars, a Piton Fix and base plates, including parts from Sauermann. A number plate lamp and a rear-view mirror complete the set for tractors that spend a lot of time on the road.
Push button switches for the cab are sold individually, so one dead button does not mean replacing a whole panel.
The cooling fan deserves attention too. If it cuts in and out without the temperature gauge explaining why, check the temperature sensor and its plug before suspecting the fan itself. Blow the radiator pack clean from the inside outwards during servicing so the fan has less work to do.
The type plate confirms that you are working on a 6145 Profi. Then put the number on the old part next to the reference number given for the product. With an aircon compressor, also compare the pulley and the connections, as they have to match what is on the engine exactly.
