Trailer couplings, electrics and steering and front axle parts: more than 90 matching items for the Steyr 6240 CVT are listed together on this page.
A failing NOX sensor or a split radiator hose can take a Steyr 6240 CVT out of work at the worst moment. This page lists more than 90 parts that fit this tractor, supplied by GRANIT together with Scharmüller, Wabco, Vitesco and MAHLE.
On the engine side you will find NOX sensors that sit at the catalytic converter outlet, temperature sensors and cylinder head bolts. Radiator hoses and air hoses cover the cooling and intake side, and there is a matching tank cap for the fuel tank.
Check the seal under the tank cap now and then. Once it is cracked or flattened, water and dust find their way into the diesel, and you pay for it later with blocked filters. A new cap is quicker than cleaning a contaminated fuel system.
Before condemning a NOX sensor, inspect the plug and the harness. Green corrosion in the connector, or a cable that has rubbed against a hot exhaust part, throws exactly the same fault as a dead sensor. Route the cable of the new sensor back through the existing clips so it cannot touch the exhaust.
Squeeze the radiator hoses with the engine cold now and then. A hose that feels soft or swollen is due before it bursts in the field, and new hose clamps are a sensible addition. Cylinder head bolts should always be new when a head goes back on, tightened in the sequence and stages set out in the workshop manual.
Vibration and branches along the field edge are hard on fenders. For the 6240 CVT there are complete fender brackets and fender springs, so a fender that has shaken loose or snapped off can be fixed firmly again.
For the back of the tractor there are K80 drawbars, height adjustable adapter plates, drawbar frames, top drawbars, an automatic hitch, a Piton Fix and base plates with a ring. When swapping hitch parts, always check that rail width and pin match what is currently fitted on the tractor.
The serial number on the type plate of your Steyr is the key to matching parts. Steyr groups the 6240 CVT within its CVT line. The reference number on the old part is an even surer check, so compare it with the product details. For sensors, also look at the fitting position and the number of pins on the connector.
Other models from the same CVT range have their own pages, including the Steyr 6165 CVT, 6150 CVT, 6145 CVT, 6175 CVT, 6185 CVT and 6195 CVT, which helps when you run a mixed Steyr fleet. The 6230 CVT and 6160 CVT also belong to this range. Parts for other Steyr tractors sit on Steyr parts.
