Steyr 9100 M parts for the cab, switches and hitch

A Steyr 9100 M is the kind of tractor you spend whole days in. You notice straight away when the roof hatch will not stay up, a dashboard switch plays up or the seat has lost its spring. Gas struts: small part, big difference

For the 9100 M there are gas struts, including ones for the roof hatch. A strut that loses pressure lets the hatch or window creep shut. Fit a new gas strut with the piston rod pointing down, so the seal inside the cylinder stays lubricated and the strut lasts longer. Where struts work in pairs, always replace both together so the hatch is not loaded on one side.

Controls and electrics

• Rocker switches for the dashboard, such as the one for the front work lights.
• Push button switches, for instance for quick lowering of the front linkage.
• Work lamps with a spot beam for flush mounting.

Hitching and driveline

At the rear there are drawbars for the rail system, automatic hitches and height adjustable adapter plates. For the driveline you will find thrust bearings in a closed design. With an automatic hitch, grease the coupling pin and the locking mechanism regularly. Sand and dirt make the mechanism stiff, and a hitch that does not lock fully is dangerous on the road.

An air suspended seat that slowly sinks often has a leak in the bellows or in the air line to the compressor. Before writing the seat off, switch the engine off and listen closely for a hiss from underneath it. If the seat really is worn out, a new tractor seat for this model makes a noticeable difference to your back. A door lock that no longer catches lets in draughts and dust, and is usually swapped with a few bolts.
