More than 250 parts are matched to the Steyr 6195 CVT. Among them are trailer couplings, electrics, and steering and front axle components.
Lifting the bonnet on a Steyr 6195 CVT should be easy, and if it is not, the gas struts are worn. That is one of many small jobs covered by this page, which lists more than 250 parts for the 6195 CVT from GRANIT, Scharmüller, HELLA, GRAMMER and Cobo.
The heavy bonnet is held up by gas struts. If it opens sluggishly or sinks on its own, replace both struts at the same time, and never work under a bonnet resting on tired struts. For the engine there are gaskets, including one for the water pump, along with seals, sealing rings and O-rings, for example for the oil filler cap.
Alternators and multi-rib belts keep the charging system working. Replace a belt that shows cross cracks or glazed flanks, and check the tensioner pulley at the same time. A tensioner that rattles or runs rough will ruin a new belt quickly.
Rocker switches for the dashboard, such as the one for the front work lights, and push button switches, for instance for front linkage lowering, are available too. Before replacing a switch, check the plug at the back. Vibration can work it loose and cause exactly the same fault. A shot of contact spray on the connector sometimes cures it. Only when the switch itself sticks or no longer clicks cleanly is a new one needed.
Air suspended tractor seats and work lamps, including HELLA flood beams, cover the cab. At the rear there are drawbars, adapter plates, automatic hitches and top drawbars. Measure rail width and hole pattern on the frame currently fitted. An automatic hitch saves time when trailers change several times a day, while a plain drawbar with a towing eye covers routine haulage. Always renew a worn locking pin when the hitch is replaced.
The type plate shows the model and serial number. The reference number on the old part decides it, so compare it with the product description. For switches, also check the symbol and function, and for a multi-rib belt the number of ribs and the length of the old belt.
The other tractors in the Steyr CVT series each have their own page with the parts for that type:
The 6160 CVT, the 6230 CVT and all other Steyr tractors are reachable through the overview of Steyr parts.
