For the driving clutch there are sintered clutch plates and thrust bearings, and for the transmission gear wheels, including ones for the reduction gearbox. Lift arm shaft sealing rings and complete seal kits keep the oil inside.
Once the tractor is split for a new clutch plate, replace the thrust bearing at the same time. It adds little to the bill and saves you splitting the tractor again a few months later because of a whining bearing. While it is apart, look at the friction face of the flywheel too. Scoring or blue patches tell you the old plate has been slipping for a while, and the face needs attention before the new plate goes in.
At the rear you will find automatic drawbars and Piton Fix hitches. Inside the cab there are rubber floor coverings, and the fenders are covered by springs. The electrical side includes alternators, temperature sensors, contact switches, work lamps and differential pressure sensors. For the injectors there are O-rings.
If the temperature gauge jumps about, check the plug and wiring at the temperature sensor before replacing the sensor itself. Let the engine cool before swapping it, catch the coolant and do not overtighten the new sensor, or the housing may crack. When the alternator stops charging, look at the belt and the earth strap first. A slipping belt or a poor contact looks exactly like a failed alternator and can save you an unnecessary purchase.
The T4 series includes several models that look much alike from the outside, so check the type plate before ordering. If you have the old part, the reference number on it is the surest way to match a replacement. For a drawbar, also compare the rail width and pin size, and for a clutch plate the diameter and the number of splines.
