More than 150 parts for the New Holland T8040 from the T8000 series. View trailer couplings, electrics and lighting without working through fitment lists.
Heavy trailers with air brakes are a normal sight behind a T8040, so the more than 150 New Holland T8040 parts on this page go beyond drawbars and pitons. You will also find connector heads for the air lines, flange hitches and trailer couplings, from GRANIT, ROCKINGER, Scharmüller, Walterscheid and GRAMMER.
On air brake connector heads the colour tells you the job: red is the supply line. Keep the rubber seal inside the head clean and replace it once it shows cracks. A small leak at the coupling shows up as the compressor cutting in more often than usual. After unhitching, always park the heads in their holders so dirt and water stay out.
For the cooling system there are fan clutches and radiator caps. A cap with a worn seal lets pressure escape too early, so coolant disappears without any visible leak. Never open it on a hot engine. Alternators that also fit Case IH handle charging, and O-rings round off the engine bay.
A fan clutch that no longer engages properly shows itself as an engine running hot during heavy summer haulage even though the radiator is clean. On a cold engine the fan should feel stiff when you push it round by hand. Oil traces around the hub mean the clutch is leaking. While you are at it, blow the radiator and intercooler clear with compressed air from the inside outwards, as dirt between the fins costs a lot of cooling capacity.
In the cab, GRAMMER air suspended tractor seats and gas struts fit. For working after dark there are LED flood beam work lights.
After fitting a GRAMMER air suspended seat, set it to the driver's weight. Set too soft, it bottoms out on rough ground and you feel it in your back by evening. Gas struts are best replaced in pairs.
Start from the type plate and note the serial number of your T8040. For an alternator or fan clutch, compare the number on the old part with the product details. For hitch parts, what counts is the rail width and the bolt pattern on the flange, so measure those on the tractor.
Every other New Holland tractor, including the rest of the T8000 series, is listed on New Holland parts.
